Coming after incorporation

We will not accept money on behalf of a CIC that does not yet exist, and donations will not be routed through IRELCO LTD.

Before the first donation

Four safeguards must be in place.

The CIC is incorporated
The final company name, community-interest statement and governance are formally approved.

Money goes to the CIC
A bank account is opened in the name of Centre for Online Marketplace Safety CIC, separate from IRELCO LTD.

The provider accepts the model
The selected payment service explicitly supports CICs and the intended type of public support.

Public promises are published
Fund use, privacy, complaints, refunds and financial controls are explained before payment.

Payment-provider review

Countingup is not suitable for the CIC.

Countingup’s published eligibility criteria currently exclude Community Interest Companies and not-for-profit services. Although its eligible business accounts can create payment links and connect to Stripe, an IRELCO account must not be used as a substitute for an account in the name of Centre for Online Marketplace Safety CIC.

The final provider will be selected only after the proposed CIC’s legal form, banking and donation requirements are confirmed.
