This notice applies to visits to coms.up0.uk and to communications sent in response to information on this website.
Centre for Online Marketplace Safety CIC is the proposed legal name of a company that is not yet incorporated. Until it is incorporated and publishes a replacement notice, IRELCO LTD is the controller for personal data processed through this provisional website.
1. Controller and contact details
IRELCO LTD is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15377065. Its registered office is Goldworks, Mill Lane, Ebbw Vale, Wales, NP23 6GR.
For privacy questions or requests, email hello@irelco.co.uk and include “COMS privacy” in the subject line.
2. Personal data processed
Website access and security data
The web server records technical information when a page is requested. This can include the IP address, date and time, requested address, request method and protocol, response status and size, referring page, browser or device user-agent and a request identifier.
Information you choose to send
This website does not currently provide an account, contact form, product-report form or payment facility. If you choose to contact IRELCO LTD by email, it will receive your email address, message and any other information you include.
3. Why the data is used and the lawful basis
- Operate, secure and troubleshoot the website: legitimate interests in providing a reliable service, detecting misuse and investigating technical or security incidents.
- Respond to enquiries: legitimate interests in handling communications and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into an arrangement.
- Meet legal obligations: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law or a lawful request.
The website does not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Cookies and tracking
The website does not currently set cookies, use browser storage, run audience analytics or use advertising trackers. Server access logs are not cookies. Read the cookie notice for more detail.
5. Who data may be shared with
Data is available only where needed to IRELCO LTD and service providers supporting hosting, security or email. It may also be disclosed where required by law, to establish or defend legal rights, or to protect people and systems from harm. Personal data is not sold.
If a service provider processes personal data outside the UK, IRELCO LTD will rely on the provider’s applicable safeguards and use an appropriate transfer mechanism where the law requires one.
6. Retention
Web-server logs are rotated daily and the configured schedule keeps up to 14 rotations, so they are normally retained for approximately 14 days unless an incident requires a relevant record to be preserved for longer.
Emails are kept only for as long as needed to address the enquiry, maintain an appropriate business record, resolve a dispute or meet a legal requirement.
7. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase your personal data; restrict or object to its use; and receive a portable copy. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent. Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions.
To exercise a right, use the contact details above. You may be asked for enough information to locate the relevant data and confirm your identity.
8. Complaints
Please contact IRELCO LTD first so the issue can be investigated. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Visit the ICO data-protection complaints page .
9. Changes to this notice
This notice will be reviewed when the proposed CIC is incorporated, when the website begins collecting information directly, or when its services or data practices change materially. The effective date below identifies the current version.
